Celebrating Maha Shiva Ratri: The Holy Night of Shiva

 

In this teaching, Shunyamurti explains that Maha Shiva Ratri is a portal to activate our supreme potential. 

 

"Are you able to be in tune with the vibrational waves which bring not only peace, but bliss, power, love, fulfillment, and liberation from all illusion? Maha Shiva Ratri is the day in which we are to do the fine-tuning to that supreme frequency."

Shunyamurti begins by saying that God gifts all treasures to those who yearn, then explains that many people begin to conceive of God as the third person (He/She), working through to the second person (Thou) when the relationship has deepened, finally realizing God in the first person (I Am/the Self), he then speaks about how God can only be known via the heart, through love, but egos are as agnostic about love as they are about God because of past experiences and traumas, but that love is the only answer and alone will bring us peace/stability, saying that love is the portal to the Absolute, that when there is love there is no need for techniques, and that the heart must be purified.

Having screened The Big Lebowski the previous evening, Shunyamurti analyzes the famous line, “The Dude Abides”, and contextualizes the place of the Dude on the spectrum of consciousness, noting that the puer aeternus (the psychological position of staying an immature "eternal child" and refusing to grow up or take responsibility), embodied in past cultural icons such as The Little Prince, has become the Big Lebowski, and encourages us to abide as the Supreme Dude, rather than the Dude portrayed in the Cohen brothers' movie.

Shunyamurti discusses esoteric paths and exoteric paths (that begin from an ego perspective), saying that seeking creates more seeking, then proceeds to explain the three Reals and how they correspond to Tibetan Buddhism (Dharma Kaya, Sambhoga Kaya, and Nirmana Kaya), also speaking about love and chakra two, and, of course, recommending the movement to Real 3.
